Last month our family found out that my Grandma had a brain tumor and in the process of finding out the severity of that cancer we learned that she has a mass on one of her lungs, developed blood clots and ended up having surgery to remove the tumor. The tumor was situated on the top of her head which is the best kind of tumor evidently but it was still scary to learn about.
Recently I heard about a group called Look Good Feel Better who's purpose is to help those with Cancer feel better - why? Because those with a positive outlook, who feel upbeat and encouraged have a better chance of survival.

"This was one of the most positive, self-esteem raising experiences that I have ever had. It was amazing to have the opportunity to feel comfortable discussing and dealing with the effects of chemotherapy rather than trying to hid them." ~ Becky
About Look Good Feel Better:
Their MISSION: Look Good Feel Better is dedicated to improving the self-esteem and quality of life of people undergoing treatment for cancer. It is our aim to improve their self-image and appearance through complimentary group, individual, and self-help beauty sessions that create a sense of support, confidence, courage, and community.
Founded more than 23 years ago, the Look Good Feel Better program has helped more than 1.2 million cancer patients throughout the US and around the world regain confidence during cancer treatment by helping them to cope with the appearance & side effects of cancer
treatment.
They conduct workshops that are FREE, available in all 50 states and are staffed by local expert volunteers that offer lessons in how to apply cosmetics and hair accessories that help address the changes in skin and hair loss that often accompany cancer treatment, as well as tips on wardrobe/styling.
"You have the capacity to take one from the devastation of the diagnosis and the effects of chemo to a hope for the future. Thank you." ‐‐ Virginia, Burlington, NC
