About the Book:
Get ready to get healthy God's way. There are dramatic health benefits when we eat the food God provides for us instead of the processed packaged food man provides. Since changing their diet in 2003, Annette and her husband have come off of all their prescriptions, lowered triglycerides from over 900 to 140, lowered cholesterol from 300 to 160, and lowered their blood pressure to normal.

Did you know you can find the answers to many health problems in the pages of Scripture?

Think of God's Word as a treasure map that leads straight to the healthy life you've always dreamed of. It reveals how you can move from a sickly, lackluster life to one that is full of energy and hope. This practical Bible study will reveal the truth about the foods you eat and provide simple tools to begin improving your physical, emotional, and spiritual health. You won't believe how much your life can change when you grab hold of the treasures God has provided for you.

In this Bible study, you will:
• Discover the basics of nutrition to build a firm foundation for your health
• Obtain the tools you need to evaluate and improve your health
• Examine the harmful effects of altered food and household products
• Find healthy alternatives to unwholesome foods
• Learn how diet, exercise, and your spiritual life go hand-in-hand
• Lay the groundwork for a lifetime of positive health

A few thoughts from other people:
"This well organized book is full of good, scriptural tips and sweet stories. I know God will use this book in a mighty way. Rex would have been thrilled with this Bible study." -Judy Russell, wife of the late Dr. Rex Russell; author of What the Bible Says About Healthy Living

"Based on a passion to bring glory to God alone, Annette Reeder and Dr. Couey present sound Scriptural truths, coupled with extensive research data. Look forward to being rewarded with life-changing application and treasures which you will eagerly want to embrace and share with others." -Jerry and Bobbye Rankin, International Mission Board, SBC

My Thoughts:
I was very interested in reviewing this book when I was asked to partly because of my fibromyalgia and because of my need to stay up to date on research and avoid processed foods & also because I was curious about what Annette had to share from their perspective. I was very interested in the facts that they were able to remove their prescriptions from their life and also because they had such a dramatic result from the changes they made.

I was very impressed with the amount of research this book contains and I really liked how each chapter is broken up in to smaller chunks. Each chapter is made up of 5 days of a very indepth study in scripture and nutrition as well as fitness. The main focus of the book is to make God and the Bible your life foundation with food and nutrition falling into place.

Treasures of Healthy Living is designed for study groups from church, between friends and spouses and it can also be used by an individual. Just so you know some of the days study are very long and I would see myself breaking it down into much smaller chunks as I'm just not able to focus for the length it would take to get through that day's lesson. Some of the days (take week 1, day 4 is 12 pages long and it covers "Tools for the Journey" that you will need.)

There are DVD's to extend the lesson for bible study groups and the book I received is a combination bible study and workbook. You can find out more about the program at http://www.designedhealthyliving.com.

I received a copy of Treasures of Healthy Living to review on GivingNSharing. I was not required to give a positive review and no money exchanged hands.
