Santa Approved: Dial Complete Foaming Hand Wash

Winter is here and with it comes the flu season - and the need to get your kids to start washing their hands more often. I run a very small daycare and we've already battled the Upper Respiratory Crud and the Flu Season is officially started according to the news yesterday. We actually have 27 confirmed cases here in Douglas County (NE)! 

I've been thinking about what I can do to get my kids to wash their hands more often (how many of you have kids that conveniently "forget" to wash their hands after using the bathroom?) Here are a few things I'm going to do to hopefully keep the nasty crud from my door:

1. Keep Dial Antibacterial Foaming Hand Wash in the bathroom & kitchen. This soap actually kills 99.9% of bacteria. Dial has these cute designs and my kids all call the Dial Soap in the bathroom the "Santa Soap". (Wonder if they'd believe Santa is watching to see if they wash their hands after using the toilet??? hmmmm)

The Santa Soap is a pink color and a wonderful smell. I'm not exactly sure what it smells like but it's kind of sweet and I love the smell my hands have after using it. My only concern about the pump is that Sierra is unable to pump it - it's very hard to push down (see #4 below - this hasn't been to much of a problem with my preschoolers since I'm with them).

2. Have kids take Vitamin C Chewables and encourage kids to take a WHOLE FOOD Vitamin. Make lots of Oranges available for meals and snacks.

3. Use Lysol to disinfect all the door knobs, the remote control, the bathroom and table surfaces and toys.

4. Teach & watch kids how to WASH their HANDS correctly. With Sierra (age 3) I'm in the bathroom with her. I make sure to watch her and remind her to wash the fronts, backs and in between the fingers. Connor - well, let's just say he's ALL BOY - I'm always asking "do I need to check the sink to see if it's wet & I can see soap?".
