Newman's Own Organics

Newman's Own Organics
A Review & Giveaway!

Recently I was given the opportunity to sample a BIG box full of bounty from Newman's Own Organics. We're talking some of the best licorice (6 varieties including their awesome sour licorice), cookies, pretzels, chocolate and dried fruit.

They have an variety of cookies - everything from Alphabet Cookies, sandwich cookies and my favorite Orange Chocolate Chip. The Orange Chocolate Chip are buttery, tasty little morsels made with organic flour and organic sugar - they really have a great taste of oranges in them too. I wasn't to sure if I would like the combination but these were awesome. I quickly buried them in the cookie jar so they wouldn't go to fast (and no one else would eat them).

Their pretzels are very good too. My favorite feature of the pretzels is that they aren't overly salty. I don't particularly care for salt unless it's just a little bit and these had just the right amount. I actually kept the mighty mini pretzels in my car and rationed them off - until Sierra (age 3) discovered them. Now all we have left are crumbs in her carseat. I also received the protein pretzels. They are made with yellow pea flour and have about 5g of protein in them and they about the same size as the mini pretzels and even less salty which I loved! Last night the girls enjoyed the protein pretzels with apples & peanut butter - so they had an abundance of protein!

Licorice - what can I say? Newman's Own Organic licorice is the old fashioned kind. Not to sweet, not too sour - very very good. I don't usually like anything that's sour and these are not over done. Very very good. I've tried the Sour Apple and the Sour Strawberry and loved them both. We also tried the Regular Strawberry licorice and it was wonderful too.

I had a hard time choosing my next favorite. We're supposed to choose 4 but I easily had 5 or 6. I REALLY REALLY liked the Peanut Butter Chocolate Cups - they come 3 in the package. Each is very creamy and melt in your mouth. The mint were OK too - but I really liked the peanut butter.

Dried Fruit PackagesMy 4th choice though is going to be the dried fruit. There is so much that you can do with dried fruit. You can add it to cereal, bread, rice, eat it straight from the bag and kids love it. I tried the raisins and the apricots and both were wonderful!

Why Newman's Own Dried Fruit? They are 100% organic and they are Sulfite FREE. They have the following varieties: Apple, Cranberry, Apricots, Pitted Prunes, Berry Blend and Raisins. There is a wide choice to choose from!

You can find all of these products and other Newman's Own Organic products as well as their Pet Food (Review coming later) in your local store. If they don't have them request them. They should be easy to bring into your store. You may also be able to find them in your local Trader Joe's or Whole Foods.
