The Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler

Hidden Recycler

I received The Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler last week (just in time for Earth Day) to test and use in my home and I love it. It wasn't really what I thought it was going to be - I actually thought it was a trash can that somehow had 2 parts. A top part for cans & smaller items and a bottom drawer that opened for larger items. But that's not it at all.

The Hidden Recycler can be used by every member of the family from the baby's room as a laundry basket (just grab and dump into the washer) to the den/office when you're going through the junk mail - especially if you aren't ready to start shredding) to the kitchen for cans & plastics and even the bathroom near the makeup counter, to store dry bath toys & extra plastic bags for the little trash cans and to separate undies & other items that need special washing. I loved how versatile it can be! Best of all a child can put it together and on trash day be responsible for taking the recyclables out.

I really like how sturdy the bag is - it's made of a denim type fabric that seems like it's reinforced with a interfacing type fabric on the inside. There is a "flap" that goes over the frame that holds the bag and there are slits on the flap that secures it to the frame. There is also a built in handle included as part of the frame.

I think this tool will definitely be on my list as great graduation, dorm & wedding gifts.
