2015 Summer Reading Suggestions ~ The Quest For Truth

2015 Summer Reading Suggestions - Week 4
The Quest for Truth series

One of my favorite series of books is written for kids about 8+. Family oriented, faith based and action packed it's guaranteed to keep boys (and girls) on the edge of their seat. Older kids and parents will get the message buried beneath the story and will have fun with the symbolism and references to faith & Biblical lessons scattered throughout the story. I STILL think this series would make a GREAT movie series!

The Quest for Truth is a cross between Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter (kinda), Avatar (without the animalismm, ritualism & preaching about saving the planet) & Indiana Jones..... it moves fast, is as deep as you want to make it, is full of puzzles, symbols and scriptural lessons without delving into the Bible. Make sense? No - you need to read the book to see what I mean!

About this series:
The Quest for Truth series follows the 4 Wikk kids in their desperate race to find the mysterious planet Ursprung & stop the Ubel renegades from misusing it's long-lost secrets. Ancient cities, treacherous villains, high-tech gadgets, the Phoenix-encounter all these and more on this futuristic, interplanetary adventure.

Join the Wikk siblings as they race through space to save their parents who have been kidnapped by the sinister Captain Vedrik. Their only hope is their parents Archeos e-journal which contains clues that point the kids to their parents next mission - an archeological dig to find remnants of an ancient human civilization. They must rely on Oliver's academy training to fly their ship but problems arise when twins Mason & Austin unexpectedly meet a secret race of people called the Blue People.

I've done reviews on the first 3 books in this series during the Summer Book Club that I used to host every summer on my Classic Children's Books blog. Brock Eastman has also written another series The Sages of Darkness and has authored few of The Imagination Station series books.

  1. Hello Tina! Having a Summer reading program/agenda for your kids is excellent. It gives them somewhere else to focus, a place that doesn't involve a big monitor/TV screen :)
